Space Perspective reveals tourism capsule

Space tourism company Space Perspective has unveiled its Spaceship Neptune design. The capsule, which will be lofted into space by a balloon is currently under construction near Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center. The company claims to be the only carbon neutral route to space for passengers.

A spokesperson for the company said, “Space Perspective is revolutionising space travel – and is a world away from rocket-fueled space endeavors. Explorers on board Spaceship Neptune, taking flight commercially from the end of 2024, will safely ascend to the edge of space […] absorbing the phenomenal beauty of Earth from space.

“The six-hour round trip enables anybody who can board an airplane to soak in the beautiful views of the thin blue line circling earth below and the dark vastness of space above.”

The windows will be coated in a similar way to an astronaut’s visor to keep the interior comfortable, cool, and safe.

The spokesperson added, “Space Perspective collaborated with Siemens, who have provided expertise in rigorous and precise engineering to the design of Spaceship Neptune. Testing iterations of the capsule design were accelerated by using solutions from Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and parallel-processing AWS servers.”
