Judges comments
Judge one: This podcast really stands out in the production quality. That’s not just a matter of good audio, but excellent concept, planning and editing. The submitted podcast had a true narrative arc, which you see in some of the very popular consumer-facing podcasts. It combined the very best of journalistic rigour with storytelling, optimized for the medium. The tone of these podcasts is quite accessible, particularly given the complex subject matter. I am impressed with the many sources used in the segments and how well-edited the components are. They create a compelling narrative from beginning to end.
Judge two: This show is close to flawless. The use of sound effects and music, the clear script, the range of interviews and the breadth and depth of content are all exemplary. There is a clear vision for business growth which is fully aligned with your brand; and extra congratulations for doing your homework and finding a niche no one else is occupying. The show is good enough for commercial broadcast (in fact it’s better than a lot of programs I’ve heard on commercial radio). Congratulations on a sterling entry.
Judge three: Excellent writing, format, production quality, pacing, and length. Succeeds in making an important and impossibly complex topic accessible and enjoyable. It’s not an easy task to make minute distinctions in drilling and foundation construction for wind turbines interesting, but this program does a strong job in exploring the nuts and bolts of the subjects it covers, while also recontextualizing them in a way that appeals even to the uninitiated. I can see this podcast providing value to industry insiders and casual listeners — which, importantly to this category, would make it an invaluable brand companion. But I was impressed that Reby Media took it a step further, conceiving the show as a brand in and of itself. For a sponsored podcast to grow in the way this show has, separate from an existing brand, it must embrace every strength and limitation of the form, and Engineering Matters does.”

Production timeline
Partnered Episodes and Partnered shorts follow the same production process.
When you have decided to go ahead with your episode or series, our producers and hosts will meet with you to understand the objectives of the business and start framing the stories to tell. We’ll develop and episode brief and target interviewees.
The next step is to conduct interviews. These will be done one on one and either in person or through remote recording methods. The interviewees will be pre-interviewed by one of our researchers, followed by a recorded interview. Nothing is live so there is always the chance to try again.
Once all interviews have been completed, our producers hold a touching base meeting with you to discuss final episode plans. They will prepare a full episode script.
The completed script will be sent to you as our partner. You will have the opportunity to make any changes to the hosts narrative and request the removal of any interviewee quotes.
With the script approved, the hosts will record their narrative and our sound designer will bring the episode to life through foley work, music and layered soundscaping.
The final is broadcasting. We publish the episode on our podcast feed and it is distributed to the various podcast platforms, including Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, Podcast Addict and many more. We will also provide you with the necessary embed codes so you can make the episode available from your own website.
Once the episode has aired for at least 60 days we will provide a listener performance report that will give you a clear understanding of listener numbers and geographical distribution.
