Manchester City have revealed plans for a major stadium renovation and expansion. The plans include the construction of all-weather facilities integrated into the stadium as well as an expansion of the North Stand to increase the stadiums overall capacity to 60,000.

A new ‘City Square fan zone’ is planned which will include a new club shop, work space for local businesses. a museum and a hotel.

The construction is set to get underway in November 2023 with the project expected to be completed within three years.

The club ran a feasibility study in December 2022 which found 79% of respondents were positive or supportive of the plans.

Manchester City have also previously committed to becoming net zero by 2030, while Manchester City Council has a net zero bey 2038 goals. This means planning application will also require a sustainability statement laying out how the club plans to reduce and mitigate construction related emissions.
