John Deere wins Farm Machine award

Agricultural machinery manufacturer John Deere won the Farm Machine award for 2022 in the Forage Harvester category. It scooped the German agricultural industry prize for its 9000 Series Forage Harvesters.

John Deere stated its new 9500 and 9600 models include a range of new features to improve performance.

A spokesperson said, “Both models contain the new JD18X engine with HarvestMotion Plus, meaning that this 18-litre engine produces a unique torque rise and increased power at lower engine speeds. Additionally, the 750hp engine does not require Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), making this harvester more efficient and cheaper to run.

“The improvements also extend to the kernel processing and spout. To produce consistent kernels, the harvesters include the John Deere XStream KPTM and the ProStream crop flow produces an even, low-wear cropflow stream. Meanwhile, the spout has seen improvements to its contour to provide better visibility and easier maintenance.”
