Invisible Keypad to Trick Thieves

Scientists from Switzerland have created a prototype security keypad that is transparent.

According to an article on New Atlas, the keypad is be able to be adhered in close proximity to surfaces that offer as a barrier to an area of restricted access, such as a safe or a door.

It is a device that has been produced in unison with the EPFL, the Empa research institute and the Paul Scherrer Institute. The keypad consists of numerical buttons that are inkjet-printed and circuits made out of transparent ink, which are both positioned onto a thin and clear polymer film substrate.

This is a study led by Evgeniia Gilshtein, a lead scientist at the Empa research institute. In the video below, Evgeniia shows how the keypad is used.
