Highland agriculture technical innovation awards

The prestigious Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) Technical Innovation Awards have been bestowed upon some of the field’s top visionaries. This year saw a record number of awards, according to a report by Farmers Weekly.

The society’s gold awards can only be won by entrants that have previously been awarded silver and have displayed continuing outstanding merit.

This year the gold awards went to:

  • Landy & Dyson of Skipton, North Yorkshire for its Landy power take-off hot water pressure washer, which draws all of its power from a tractor, operates at up to 206 bars of pressure, and can supply 30 litres of water per minute at up to 90°C
  • Limagrain UK for its winter wheat breeding programme, which has produced high-yield grains that have proven successful in Scottish growing conditions

The silver awards were presented to:

  • Lely Holding for Discovery Collector 120, a cattle shed cleaner that vacuums rather than scoops
